Aaron LindseyAward-winning super producer Aaron Lindsey is a phenomenon in the music industry. His impressive collection of Grammy, Dove, Stellar and Soul Train Music awards paint an extraordinary picture of his distinguished career and his worth as a music producer, songwriter, musician and clinician.
Having produced Marvin Sapp's chart-topping Thirsty which featured the #1 hit single Never Would Have Made It, Lindsey is certainly on the A-list of Inspirational producers. He has worked with Gospel superstars such as Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, Yolanda Adams, Martha Munizzi, Mary Alessi, Marvin Sapp, Alvin Slaughter, Micah Stampley, Lakewood Church, Dewayne Woods and Alvin Slaughter.
But amid all of his successes, Lindsey along with his wife Adrian finds fulfillment in mentoring Independent artists. "We take what we learn and put it in bite-sized portions and disseminate it to others," says Lindsey.
Here are a few of those portions Lindsey imparts to up and coming producers seeking to hone their skills and, also artists seeking a good producer to catapult their project to the next level.
· Be hungry and desire to pursue more.
· Never allow satisfaction because it stifles your growth.
· Study your craft and explore different genres including Gospel, Urban, Jazz and Classical.
· Be willing to accept the demand and reality that sounds are changing and you must adjust with the times.
So, what does Lindsey look for in artists that he produces?
· Passion first and talent next. While a stellar voice and talent is great, Lindsey says it's the heart and passion that you as an artist put into a song that matters more to him. "A passionate song lasts longer than one with only great vocal talent," says Lindsey.
· To be driven to their life dream.
· The ability to be open to other options and ways of doing things. According to Lindsey some of the most successful artists enjoy that success because they are open to hearing other views of their music.
Aaron Lindsey Shaped by the influences of ingenious producers Quincy Jones, Narada Michael Walden and personal mentor Steven Ford, Lindsey is unrestrained when it comes to music. His iPod rocks tunes from Christian artist Kevin LeVar and Gospel superstar Donald Lawrence to Jazz artists the Brecker Brothers and European rockers Coldplay.
George Huff, Byron Cage and Trent Cory are just some of the artists with upcoming projects produced by Lindsey. Lindsey and wife Adrian are owners of Whatbox Global Media, Aaron Lindsey Publishing, and Groove Habitat Studios. Lindsey will appear as an expert panelist on Ace Alexander's Radio Upclose Seminar on May 5 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as part of the Gospel Complex.
