Kirk Franklin to Sign Next Sunday Best Winner, Not Mathew Knowles

(July 5, 2013) - BET Sunday Best will soon debut his sixth season but the grand prize of a record deal has changed once again. In the upcoming season,  the winner will no longer sign with Mathew Knowles' Music World Gospel label. Joy105.com reports that the winner of the competition will sign with Kirk Franklin's Fo Yo Soul Entertainment label via RAC Inspiration. Earlier season winners signed with Verity before Music World signed on to give recording contracts to the person crowned Sunday Best. Joshua Rogers, Le'Andria Johnson and Amber Bullock who won in previous seasons, are currently signed to Music World Gospel.

According to joy105.com, "This change should come as no surprise though as Music World Gospel has been grappling with some servere financial issues for the past few years all starting with the Radio One lawsuit and the ban that crippled many of the artists from being played on some of the top gospel stations. Consequently, many of the labels top-selling artists have either now left (Music World Gospel) or been in search of new opportunities."
