(Dec. 6, 2013) Iconic human rights leader, philanthropist and former president of South Africa Nelson Mandela died yesterday at his home surrounded by family and friends. The Nobel Peace Prize recipient is mourned around the world as he invoked change, bringing an end to apartheid in South Africa and inspiring the world with his spiritual, non-violent approach to change. Ironically, the film “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” starring Idris Elba was recently released and is in theatres now. Networks like TV One, BET, CNN and PBS continue to broadcast special programming about the extraordinary life of Nelson Mandela who was 95 at the time of his death.
