Deitrick Haddon Partners with eOne for Music, TV & Film Projects

Deitrick Haddon, award-winning gospel artist and a star on Oxygen network's popular reality series Preachers of L.A. and Fix My Choir, is launching a new partnership with eOne Music. In addition to a record label, DHVisions, Haddon's multi-faceted deal includes developing and producing projects for television and film.

"eOne has my DNA," says Haddon, who will be working in association with Relevé Entertainment, headed by his manager and entertainment business partner Dr. Holly Carter. "It's about doing things unorthodox; about being creatively progressive and unapologetically moving gospel forward," continues Haddon. "I've been exploring TV and loving it for the last three years. Now I'm back to my first love as well."

Adds Phil Thornton, eOne Music VP/GM, urban inspirational: "Deitrick is a recording artist, TV personality and a film/TV producer. Not many people have the unique synergy to live in all those spaces."

DHVisions' first project will be Haddon's next solo album, slated for October. Prefacing its release and that of a new solo single will be the collaborative track "My City." The song's guest lineup features, among others, Fred Hammond,Dorinda Clark Cole, J Moss, Kierra Sheard, Shelby 5 and R&B's Kem. "It speaks to our young people taking ownership of their cities," says Haddon, a Detroit native. "It's very relevant to what's going on in our culture now."

According to Thornton, "My City" will be serviced to radio on April 6. That will follow Haddon's performance on the 30th annual Stellar Awards on March 28 in Las Vegas. The ceremony will premiere April 5 on the TV One cable network.

As for upcoming TV and film projects under the DHVisions banner, Haddon says the company will be "diving into" a new movie this year but declined to reveal further details. His film production credits include 2010's Blessed & Cursed and 2012's A Beautiful Soul. The Los Angeles-based Haddon is also part of the executive team behind the Preachers of L.A. spinoff, Preachers of Detroit.

A longtime singer/songwriter/producer with Verity (renamed RCA Inspirational), Haddon first gained notoriety through his progressive, urban contemporary style of gospel. His most recent set on Tyscot, the 2014 choir album Deitrick Haddon's LXW (League of Xtraordinary Worshippers), debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums. Previous chart-toppers include 2013's R.E.D. (Restoring Everything Damaged), 2011's Church on the Moon and 2004's Crossroads. A three-time Grammy nominee, Haddon is also a Dove and Stellar Award winner.
