Megachurch Pastor Creflo Dollar Arrested for Domestic Violence

(June 8, 2012) - According to an article in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Fayette County deputies arrested megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar Jr. early Friday morning for allegedly assaulting his 15-year-old daughter.

The AJC reports that "deputies were summoned to Dollar's Sandy Creek Road home around 1 a.m. after receiving a 911 call." They discovered "enough probable cause to make an arrest," Rowan said.Dollar's daughter sustained "superficial injuries" to her neck, said sheriff's office spokesman Brent Rowan. The 50-year-old minister was charged with simple battery, family violence and cruelty to children.

Deputies say the dispute occurred because Dollar's daughter wanted to attend a party and during the argument, according to Rowan, he "began to get physical with her."

Dollar, who is pastor of World Changers Church International in College Park, was released on a $5,000 bond Friday morning. His spokesman said Dollar will be responding to the accusations sometime today.
