Broadcast Pioneer, Former Radio One VP Wayne Brown Loses Battle With Cancer

(October 8, 2012) Broadcast pioneer and former Radio One Vice President, Wayne Brown, lost his battle with liver cancer this past weekend. 

Brown, 55, had an extensive background in broadcasting and marketing which included several years as VP/GM for Radio One in the Atlanta market. Most recently, he was general manager of Atlanta's Streetz 94.5 FM.Brown had also been senior partner and associate publisher of Who’s Who publishing company and prior to Radio One, he worked in TV and radio at CBS Headquarters in New York.

Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications, Brown's alma mater, offers a scholarship in Brown's name specifically for minority students.

Brown was a native of Washington, D.C. and leaves behind his wife and two sons.
