ALLIANCE THEATRE & ARENA STAGE AUDITION NOTICE
OPEN CALL: NEW GOSPEL MUSICAL ABOUT BEBE AND CECE WINANS
WHAT: Seeking strong singers to perform in a world premiere musical written by Bebe Winans, to be directed by Charles Randolph Wright.
WHEN: Thursday, September 24th
WHERE: The Alliance Theatre’s MOVEMENT STUDIO on the 3rd floor of the Woodruff Arts Center at 1280 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta GA 30309
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
*Performers WILL NOT BE SEEN IF YOU DO NOT FIT THE CRITERIA BELOW
Note: The play takes place Circa 1982
POP WINANS -Male, African American, late 40s-early 50s - A fantastic gospel singer, of the classic style. No pop sound to his voice. Please prepare 32 bars of an old school gospel song.
WINAN BROTHERS and HOWARD - Male, African American, mid 20s-early 30s- Great vocal ability and contemporary gospel vocal sound. Should be able to harmonize in a gospel group. Please prepare 32 bars of a contemporary gospel song. It can be a Winans selection or something similar.
WHITNEY HOUSTON- Female, African American, early-mid 20s. Must be comparable to Whitney in her younger days in both musical style and physical size. Please prepare 32 bars of one of Whitney Houston’s songs.
WHAT TO PREPARE & BRING: See above in character descriptions. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music for them to play. Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one. If not, please bring a picture.
REHEARSAL & SHOW DETAILS: YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR DAY TIME REHEARSALS TUES-SUN, 10 AM to 6 PM All performers must also be available for the run in DC. Housing and travel will be provided for DC.

Arena Stage
First Rehearsal: 6/20/16 or 6/27/16
First Preview: 7/1/16
Open: 7/7/16
Close: 8/28/16
